Bosch iBooster Conversion Kit

The Bosch iBooster replaces the traditional vacuum brake booster with an intelligent, electronically controlled brake assist unit commonly found in modern vehicles such as Tesla, Honda, and Porsche platforms.

Unlike a vacuum booster, the iBooster operates entirely on 12-volt electrical power, providing consistent brake assist regardless of engine vacuum, altitude, engine load, or engine speed. The result is increased braking performance, reduced pedal effort, and more compact under-hood packaging.

For older Land Cruisers running larger tires, heavy bumpers, winches, armor, camping equipment, or engine conversions, the factory vacuum-assisted braking system can often feel inadequate. As vehicle weight increases, significantly more pedal effort is required to achieve maximum braking performance.

The Bosch iBooster delivers powerful, consistent brake assist with a modern pedal feel, helping drivers achieve greater braking confidence both on and off road.

Because the iBooster is completely independent of engine vacuum, brake assist remains available during low-vacuum operating conditions, steep climbs, engine stalls, or mechanical failures on the trail. As long as battery and ignition power are available, brake assist is maintained.

Kit Components

The Torfab Adapter System consists of two primary components:

  • Firewall-to-iBooster Adapter

  • iBooster-to-Master Cylinder Adapter

These precision-engineered components allow the Bosch iBooster to be installed while maintaining proper pedal geometry and master cylinder alignment.

Important Brake System Requirements

The Bosch iBooster is a significant braking upgrade, but it is not a substitute for proper brake system maintenance.

Because the iBooster is capable of generating greater braking force than a traditional vacuum-assisted system, the condition of the entire braking system should be evaluated before installation.

Prior to operating the vehicle, we strongly recommend:

Thoroughly Bleed the Brake System

Any trapped air will negatively affect pedal feel, braking performance, and overall system effectiveness.

Inspect Brake Lines

Old, corroded, damaged, or deteriorated brake lines should be replaced before installation. We highly recommend quality hard lines and braided stainless steel flexible brake lines for maximum reliability.

Verify Caliper and Wheel Cylinder Condition

All calipers, wheel cylinders, seals, and related components should be inspected and confirmed to be leak-free and operating correctly.

Brake System Safety

Increasing braking performance can expose weaknesses in neglected or worn brake components. Failure to properly inspect and maintain the brake system may result in component failure, loss of braking performance, vehicle damage, or personal injury.

As with any brake system modification, inspect, repair, and verify the condition of the entire braking system before placing the vehicle into service.

For off-road and competition use only. Professional installation is recommended.
