High-Flow Diesel Air Box Kit

When increasing boost and fuel delivery on a 1HZ, 1HD-T, or other turbo diesel Land Cruiser engine, the factory intake system can quickly become a restriction.

The Torfab High-Flow Air Box was designed to maximize airflow while providing excellent filtration for both daily driving and off-road use. Featuring a large 4-inch outlet along with a high-capacity filter element, this system significantly reduces intake restriction compared to many factory air box designs.

During testing, we found substantial reductions in intake vacuum between the air filter and turbocharger, particularly on modified diesel applications running increased boost levels. Reducing intake restriction allows the turbocharger to operate more efficiently and helps ensure your performance upgrades can reach their full potential.

This air box utilizes a readily available 2001 Duramax air filter, making replacement filters easy to source almost anywhere.

Snorkel Compatibility

Our air boxes utilize an open-to-the-fender design and can be configured for high-flow snorkel applications.

A custom snorkel plate can be supplied upon request for customers building a dedicated snorkel system. Additional charges apply for the custom plate. Final fabrication and integration with the chosen snorkel system are the responsibility of the customer, as fitment requirements vary by vehicle and snorkel manufacturer.  One thing to note, most available snorkels are a choke point to a high flow airbox negating the benefit, keep in mind that you would want a Moonlight fab 4" snorkel to get any real benefit utilizing this box.

Important Notes

• Intake noise will increase compared to the factory air box.

• Right-hand-drive vehicles may require relocation of the cruise control module and/or power distribution components to provide adequate clearance.
